We are committed to each and every member of our team to provide training, a safe and respectful work environment, within a clean and comfortable working environment. **The Opportunity** We are currently seeking a Full-Time Permanent **Transport Refrigeration (Reefer) Technician** at our Head Quarters in Winnipeg. The Reefer Technician will work in partnership with the Service Writer and the other Technicians to complete preventative maintenance and provide quality repairs on the Trappers fleet as well as external customers’ equipment in a timely and efficient manner. **Role and Responsibilities** - Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair on all refrigeration equipment - Utilization of refrigeration equipment to test and change Freon systems. - Repairs to Steam Ship Line Marine Containers as authorized - Repairs to our Chassis/Gensets/Reefer Trailer fleet as well as external customer’s equipment - Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services Genset, Reefer Van equipment. - Maintain work area appearance and safety. - Perform duties with little to no supervision in a timely and efficient manner. - Use industry standard "Best Practices" to conduct repairs. - Maintain equipment employing industry "Best Standard" practices. - Structural repairs to refrigerated and dry marine containers - Estimate and invoice entry into our operating system and customer web sites. - Perform after-hours service calls on the above noted equipment as required. - Communicate effectively with co-workers, internal and external customers. - Other duties as required **Qualifications**: - Mechanical, HVAC or refrigeration background experience required - Experience in transport refrigeration preferred - Ozone Depletion Certificate preferred - Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract - Hand tool experience a must - Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to be self-managed - Evening/weekend work is required periodically for on-call rotation - Tools with Tool Storage - Able to work in non-climate-controlled environment daily - Ability to regularly lift and or move up to 25lbs/12kgs, frequently lift and or move up to 50lbs / 23kgs and occasionally lift and or move up to 100bs / 45kgs We offer competitive compensation and a benefits program.
