**Receiver**

We are a premier lumberyard supplying a wide range of construction materials to commercial and residential construction projects throughout the greater Victoria area. This includes but is not limited to dimensional lumber, plywood, drywall, insulation, steel stud, mouldings & millwork, doors and windows.

Job Overview:
The Receiver is responsible for the accurate processing of all inbound materials and prepares products for display in the store.

**Required Accountabilities**:

- Receive shipments into system and sign paperwork upon receipt of merchandise in good condition
- Operate forklift to unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are accurate and undamaged, contact vendor if there are discrepancies
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.)
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Maintain an emphasis on safety culture customer service and efficiency as top priorities
- Stock shelves and fill displays
- Receive, store, organize and rotate stock
- Keep track of returned/defective product, contact vendor for credit of goods
- Identify and label special orders
- Keep department neat, organized and safe
- Assume other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

- 1+ year experience working as a Receiving Clerk
- Excellent organizational skills
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Experience in operating forklifts
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
- Ability to be active on your feet including climbing ladders and stairs and lifting weight up to 80lbs while rotating and climbing
- Physically able to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities that are necessary to perform job duties
- Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products
- Action oriented, self-starter attitude, ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented, time conscious and accurate
- Positive attitude

**Experience**:

- Lumber and Building supply: 1 year (preferred)
- Receiving: 1 year (required)
