Groundskeeper

**The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls is seeking passionate, and enthusiast individual who is looking to make a career in the hospitality industry.**

The Groundskeeper is responsible for general cleanliness of the exterior of The Oakes Hotel, keeping all exterior areas of the hotel clean and free of debris so that guests may have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting, while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

**Experience**
- Minimum 1-year prior landscaping or groundskeeping experience required**.**:

- Previous use of gardening tools and machinery required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure lawns are manicured appropriately - regularly treat weeds, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs, and hedges, and perform other lawn care services as necessary.
- Sweep sidewalks so they are free of debris.
- Ensure external windows and doorways are free of fingerprints and smudges.
- Wearing various PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) depending on the task.
- Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment such as mowers, clippers, blowers.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Stand, kneel, crouch, bend or walk for extended period of times. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with mínimal supervision.
- Availability for early mornings, afternoons, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to complete a police background check, which meets the hotels requirements.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3W2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Groundskeeping or Landscaping: 1 year (required)
