Site Director

The role of the **Site Director** in Data Center Delivery (DCD) requires interpersonal, communication, Leadership and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, background in construction, engineering, controls, and operational requirements and an emphasis on project/construction management, datacenter lease market experience, client representation, and project level services. This role directly drives and provides oversight of the strategic and tactical delivery of data center projects within their portfolio.

The Site Director is ultimately responsible for the complete project delivery of each Campus location and Metro to the expectations of Safety, Quality, Predictable Cost and Schedule and Risk Management. The Site Director is responsible for ensuring that each project meets Microsoft guidelines and standards, which may be adjusted from time-to-time based on best practices and lessons learned drawn from previous projects as well as industry changing best practice.

The Site Director is responsible and accountable for managing the delivery of projects, aligns team objectives, business processes, General Contractor (GC) and vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts with the project strategy. This will result in effective customer relationship management and efficiency in cost management and project delivery.

The Site Director will be a relentless advocate for managing safe delivery of the project at the quality expectations. The Site Director will also collaborate with Microsoft Security, Microsoft Information Technology, Legal, Project Engineering, Microsoft Business Risk Management, and other internal groups to maintain the corporate vision and goals for the Project.

In addition, this position will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing contractor/vendor performance related to cash flow and budget summaries and will clarify those reports in presentations to the delivery and executive chain. Other responsibilities include oversight and project controls, Project Expenditure Request (PER), Professional Services Request, Change Orders, Pay Applications, etc. Additional tasks include Microsoft partner engagement, as well as participation in communications plans, and community involvement with support from Data Center Operations (DCOPs), Real Estate Services, Data Center Services, and Corporate Communications teams.

- Responsible for Leadership of Safety, Quality and predictable delivery to meet the business need date and cost expectations.
- Responsible for leading project delivery across multiple campuses and oversight of project teams on those projects.
- Direct fiscal responsibility for the approved project budget.
- Promote collaboration with all partners and stakeholders in support of the project delivery
- Provide direct oversight of the Construction Managers within the Metro and overall team to ensure that the projects are delivered to expectations

- Responsible for Leadership across multiple campuses for Safety, Quality and predictable delivery to meet the business need date and cost expectations.
- Create and maintain best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions.
- Manage General Contractors and vendor performance along with their integration with internal partners to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
- Drive deployment of solutions that can be socialized globally across projects.
- Facilitate decision-making to drive timely solutions, schedules, and manage change as required.

**Communication**:

- Provide the project with a single point of contact for development and delivery.
- Regularly reviews cost and KPI metrics, invoices, process/policy communications to client partners.
