Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water, gas, and waste systems, in commercial facilities such as office buildings, retail centers, and industrial complexes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute plumbing installations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and system malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
- Install and service plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, and backflow preventers.
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Building Code, local plumbing regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other trades (e.g., HVAC technicians, electricians) to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly with clients and addressing their concerns.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in good condition, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance job performance.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program preferred.
- **Licensing**: Valid Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber (306A) issued by the Province of Ontario.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a commercial plumber.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in installing and repairing commercial plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- **Certifications**: Gas Technician (G2 or G1) certification, backflow prevention certification, or WHMIS training are a plus.
- **Other**: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions
- Work primarily at commercial job sites in Ottawa and surrounding areas, with occasional travel within the region.
- May require working in adverse weather conditions, confined spaces, or at heights.
- On-call availability for emergency service calls may be required.
- Standard work hours with potential for overtime during peak project periods.
