**Preferred Educational and Experiential Background**:
- College degree preferred
- 5 years’ Service Department experience (Manufacturer’s dealership experience preferred)
- Team oriented
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven management/leadership experience
**Relationships**:
- Reports to Service Manager
- Supervises all personnel in the Service Department
**Responsibilities and Authority**:
- **Customer Satisfaction**:
- Maintains a customer relations program that ensures prompt repairs of high quality. Also provides a customer record and follow-up system, resolves customer complaints, and builds loyal clientele for the dealership
- Assists the service advisors in developing their skills and providing exceptional levels of customer service
- Assists the service advisors by ensuring their focus and commitment to the 5 KPI and Hyundai Canada C.S.I. programs and expectations
- Assists the technicians by managing their workload and ensuring that all work gets completed promptly and to the highest standards.
- Reviews all pre-owned vehicle safety inspections before the work gets completed to ensure accuracy and necessity of work being done
- Helps prepare PDI work orders and distributes them fairly to all technicians
- Helps prepare repair orders for vehicle safety inspections and distributes them accordingly to technicians
- Helps service manager with closing of all repair orders while ensuring that all repair orders have all necessary notes and explanations, signatures and approvals
- Ensure that all warranty repair orders have necessary approvals, technician notes and get submitted in the required time frame
- Ensures that a proper and timely appointment schedule is maintained for customers
- **Expense Control**:
- Manages departmental expenses so that profit is earned monthly
- **Personnel**:
- Establishes and maintains practices designed to train, develop and motivate department employees
- Assist the service manager by providing detailed information and documentation on the performance of all employees in the service dept.
- Maintains technical resource bulletins and special tools in ways that are convenient to employees needing them
- **Employee Schedules**:
- Assists the service manager in maintaining a fair and balanced work schedule for all employees to ensure that the dealership offers the highest levels of customer service.
- **Manufacturer Relations**:
- Establishes and maintains relationships with the manufacturer that result in sound working arrangements
- Uses warranty claim processing procedures that permits prompt settlement, simplified tracking/control and recognizes the interest of the dealership, customer and manufacturer
- **Interdepartmental Relations**:
- Establishes and maintains good working relations with other departments to reduce conflict and maximize dealer profitability
- Prepares for and participates in meetings with management and other department heads
- **Housekeeping/Safety**:
- Initiates housekeeping and safety procedures that result in sales and attractive shop and reception/waiting areas
- **Equipment**:
- Maintains dealership equipment in effective working condition. Establishes equipment maintenance schedules where necessary. Advises management on equipment needed for department
- **Professionalism/Integrity**:
- Attends ongoing training and professional development
- Maintains active professional affiliations and needed certifications
- Establishes an ethical environment throughout the Service Department
