**A day in the role of a Recreation Aide at Pine Villa Care Centre.**

As a Recreation Aide at Pine Villa Care Centre, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents.

This position is responsible for but not limited to:

- Assist the Director of Recreation in the planning and implementation of recreation activities designed to meet individual needs and interests, according to established standards.
- Organize supplies and equipment as needed
- Set up program area as needed
- Keep attendance and document Resident participation in activities
- Encourage Residents to attend programs
- Assist residents to and from programs
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Must enjoy working with the elderly in a setting that promotes optimum independence, dignity and respect
- Must have high energy and a sense of fun
- A college diploma in leisure services an asset
- **Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.**:

**Salary**: $16.87-$26.65 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stoney Creek, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- LTC/Retirement: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Recreational Therapy Diploma/Certification (required)
