**Hydrologist**
**The Organization**:
A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out “on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland, but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
**The Role**:
A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking a full-time on-going Hydrologist based out of beautiful Kamloops, BC. We are looking for an intermediate or senior level Hydrologist professional that can analyze data, interpret, and prepare reports for environmental impacts as it relates to Hydrology and the Nlaka’pamux Homeland. Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the Hydrologist will:
- Monitor water supply and usage
- Contribute to the planning of water resource development by forecasting and monitoring water usage and precipitation level
- Use computer models to determine the most effective ways of managing available water
- Analyze the effects of environmental and land-use changes on water flow
- Conduct research on the physical, chemical, and biological properties of watersheds
- Respond to water flow changes, due to droughts and floods, and evaluate different solutions to identified issues
- Develop integrated water and drainage management plans
- Assist in minimizing the environmental impacts of pollution, erosion and sedimentation
- Write, review, and sign-off on hydrology and hydrology related reports.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of technicians, technologists, and students
- Study public and industrial water supply, water quality, wastewater, and their impacts on the habitats of fish and wildlife
- Conduct environmental impact assessments of resource projects and study the effects of natural disturbances on water quantity, quality, and aquatic ecology
- Help develop surface water sampling programs for permit compliance.
- Review instream flow assessments for projects and developments within the Nlaka’pamux homeland.
- Develop and review water balance models as it relates to mining, forestry, and other development.
- Collect field data related to water quality, quantity, and ecosystem health.
- Develop and interpret rating curves for streamflow and streamflow assessments
**Requirements**:
- Completion of a university degree in Environmental Sciences, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering or related field - or a combination of relevant education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of direct experience.
- Registered or able to register immediately as a Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer (P.Geo/P.Eng designation.
- Possess a current and valid Canadian Driver’s License.

**Salary**: $85,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
