**The Opportunity**

Reporting directly to the Forestry Supervisor this role is responsible for a variety of skilled forestry and parks operations functions and for coordinating team activities to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity and safety. As the Arborist, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

- Oversee and carry out street tree and park tree maintenance operations throughout parks, facilities and streetscape environments
- Operate small equipment including light trucks, tractors, mowers, Trackless, tree chipper, chainsaws etc.
- Maintain equipment used for parks/tree maintenance including preventative maintenance.
- Implement traffic control plans in accordance with Book 7 when required
- Ensure efficient and conscientious and safe work is carried out in all tree maintenance activities and work programs as prepared by the Supervisor
- Lead the work of forestry crew staff, students and temporary full-time employees as directed by the Supervisor, Forestry

This position offers an hourly wage rate starting at $33.88/hr plus a competitive benefit package.
