Planner / Expeditor

**Position**:R & D Shop Coordinator / Expeditor**

**Reports To: R & D Shop Supervisor**

**Job** **Summary**:
The main responsibility of this position is to improve the flow of parts and R&D equipment throughout the R&D facility by method of supply chain management and shop lean management practices.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Obtain all the necessary drawings to support R & D projects
- Develop Bills of Materials for projects and coordinate project timing with part deliveries
- Develop supply chain strategies for long lead time items and/or unique requirements. Expedite R&D parts as required
- Coordinate tooling, fixtures, etc. required in order to perform tasks at each station in order to continue workflow
- Utilize fork lift to retrieve and deliver parts to shop
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- Understanding of the R&D process
- Mechanical aptitude and parts knowledge
- Computer skills is Microsoft Excel
- Strong team member
- Willingness to assist others in order to meet departmental deadlines
- Knowledge of tools and their proper use
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of sustained physical effort
- Previous fork lift experience is preferred

**Working Conditions**:

- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Combination of office and shop work
