Fire & Flood is looking for key individuals who are willing to be part of a dynamic and growing team and is willing to learn and grow with the company.
- Safe and reliable operation of Tractor and Trailer
- Pick-up and delivery of Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd. equipment to/from Head Office and Branch

Operations to/from client sites located throughout Western Canada
- Operates a Picker truck to safely and efficiently transport a variety of materials;
- Responsible for the proper loading and securing of each commodity to prevent movement and allow for safe transportation of materials
- Responsible for ongoing and effective communication with Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd.'s personnel, customers, and others regarding permits, routes, fuel stops, giving and receiving information and instructions
- Responsible for daily completion of all required paperwork
- Responsible for performing pre-trip, inter-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and adjustments, preventive maintenance, tire chain-ups, and minor on-road repairs as needed
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle (interior and exterior)
- Fill required paperwork
- Ability to complete safety training as required on an ongoing basis
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
- Ensure that all of Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd. policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed
- Represent Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd. in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission Statements
- Be considerate of the needs of our community and the environment
- Load and unload trucks
- Work around hazardous equipment.
- Working around excessive noise from machines and chainsaws and wear proper personal protective equipment.
- Exposed to all temperatures and weather; will be exposed to nature, i.e., irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
- May work on rough terrain.
- Help enforce on-the-job safety practices for crew members.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area. Cooperate with customers, police, and fire departments when involved in emergencies. Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc., to protect employees as well as the public.
- Rig in hose lines for water transfer
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot water pumps
- Tracking water flows
- Hose testing, repair, and maintenance
- Forestry road driving experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Customers focused
- When not in the field, will work in the shop and complete duties as required under the direction of the operations chief

**Special Working Conditions**:

- Job may require overtime and nighttime work.
- On-Call 24/7 while on rotation
- Field environment and shop environment
- Be willing and able to work in remote locations for extended periods
- The work is both physically and mentally demanding
- Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, such as but not limited to fire, flood, heat, rain, and snow.

**Essential Physical Requirements**
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and turning
- Able to operate a motor vehicle without restrictions
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects safely with assistance and without difficulty
- Walking up and down various terrain with 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a physical fit test and drug and alcohol test

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Minimum 3 years' heavy equipment experience
- Valid Driver's License with Driver's Abstract
- Minimum Class 1 with 3 years of experience
- High School Diploma and/or a Journeyman Trade ticket
