Child Care Worker

Child care centre licensed for 30 school-aged children requires an experienced, dedicated and creative educator. Located in a bilingual elementary school, this program is inclusive, child-focused and play-based. Primary responsibilities include diligent monitoring of children, programming for various interests and ages, supporting children with extra needs, maintaining an orderly, interesting and welcoming centre, and being a contributing team member committed to the success of our children and program.
Applicants must have experience working with children in a professional setting, post-secondary courses/education related to child development, an understanding of BC's Child Care Licensing Regulations and first aid certification. Experience working with children with physical and intellectual challenges preferred. Bilingual/multilingual, particularly French, is an asset.
Hours: 7-9 am and 2-6 pm, Monday to Friday during the school year with additional hours on Pro-D Days and winter and spring breaks. In July and August we are open from 7 am to 6 pm and shifts are scheduled accordingly. Applicants available only certain hours or days of the week are welcome to apply.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-30 per week
**Salary**: From $17.50 per hour
