We deliver reliable concrete pumping, stone slinging, waste management, site fencing, and portable restroom services.
We are seeking a **Shop Manager** to oversee and optimize the operations of our shop in **Edmonton, Alberta**. This role requires a combination of strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and leadership abilities to ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of our fleet, including concrete pumps, hook lift roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, and more.
**What You’ll Do**
**Shop Operations and Maintenance**:
- Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime.
- Schedule and track repairs and maintenance for a fleet of approximately 30 trucks of various sizes and functions.
- Monitor the availability of critical spare parts and tools, ensuring the shop is always well-stocked.
**Team Leadership and Accountability**:
- Supervise shop staff and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Provide guidance and training to drivers and operators on daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks.

**Fleet Management**:
- Diagnose mechanical issues and oversee repairs, either performed by in-house staff or external vendors.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs using a tracking system.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for commercial vehicles and equipment.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with drivers, operators, and management to prioritize repairs and maintain fleet availability.
- Address recurring maintenance issues and propose long-term solutions.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or parts.
**What We’re Looking For**
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles; an HET Journeyman Red Seal is required.
- Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance schedules and shop systems.
- Previous experience managing or leading a team in a shop environment.
- Solid understanding of fleet management software or willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 preferred but NOT required).
**Skills**:
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external vendors.
- Leadership skills to foster accountability and teamwork.
- Knowledge of Alberta and federal regulations for commercial vehicle maintenance and inspections.

**Hours of Work**
- Monday to Friday, 45-50 hours per week on average over the course of a year. Saturdays as required.
- Overtime as required.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
**Physical Demands**
This role involves moderate physical activity, including lifting materials up to 50 pounds and operating machinery. While most work occurs in a shop environment, some outdoor work may be required, such as on-site emergency repairs.

Pay: $110,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
