**Job Overview**
A small, owner-operated business founded in 1973, located in North Vancouver, is a broker, importer, and distributor looking for a full-time Accounting Technician.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Technician will assist in all areas of financial accounting for 3 - 4 companies.
**Responsibilities**
- Post journal entries, and reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger through the careful recording and posting of transactions.
- Work with the Accounting manager to prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documents.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
- Assist with month-end financial reporting requirements.
- Reconcile bank/credit card statements with the organization's financial records to ensure accuracy and avoid any discrepancies.
**Requirements**:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g. Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience using accounting software - Connected would be an asset
Pay: $36.60-$39.00 per hour
