Project Manager

T.I.Mechanical / 1000 Islands Mechanical is a family owned business leading the commercial construction industry with integrity and a hard work ethic. We are looking for a full-time construction Project Manager. Someone with experience in construction and a strong ability to organize staff, subtrades and multiple projects at one time.

Adaptability is important as this position will include office work as well as on-site visits to various projects. This role is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in project management and project organization.

Due to the significant growth of the business, we are looking to add to our already existing Project Management team. Increasing this team will enable the business to continue to grow and increase productivity. The use of

“team” is not used lightly. Supporting one another to be successful is vital. We currently employe over 40 employees from various Unions including Plumbers Union 401 (Kingston/Oshawa) & 71 (Ottawa region) and

Sheetmetal Union 269 (Kingston) & 47 (Ottawa region) as well as non-union office staff.

What to expect:
In office work organizing projects via
- Preparing schedules for the term of the project with the ability to adapt the schedule as a project progresses
- Preparation and submission of permits
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Assemble shop drawing packages for submission
- Ordering material based on approvals from shop drawing submissions
- Selecting and coordinating work for subcontractors’ during various stages of the project
- Interact and report to engineers, architects and clients with project progression

On-site work
- Regular job site visits
- Provide hands on help to on-site Foreman ie: reviewing plans, specifications, shop drawing and ordering of material
- Interact and problem solve issues with staff, engineers and architects
- Attendance at site meetings

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years’ experience in construction
- Ability to read understand and interpret blueprints
- Broad based computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, E-mails, Excel,

WordPerfect, etc
- Highly motivated
