What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations (Parks), and under the direction of the Working Foreperson (Grounds Maintenance), from March to November the Grass Cutting Crew Leader is responsible for performing the duties associated with parks and grounds maintenance, including:
- grass cutting;- spring/fall park clean up;- providing guidance and direction to the grass cutting crew;- minor equipment maintenance and checks;- responding to resident’s concerns, inquiries and complaints;- assisting forestry operation with fertilizing and mulching of trees; and,- other duties as may be assigned.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations (Roads), and under the direction of the Working Foreperson, from November until March the Labourer is responsible for providing general labour for the duties involved in the Roads, Environmental, and Traffic Sections within the Operational Services Department, including:
- operating and maintaining various equipment, vehicles and tools;- flagging and traffic control;- repairing Town fences;- concrete repairs and installation;- assisting with roadway patrolling, maintenance, repairs and clean up;- tree trimming and removal;-
- the ability to work after hours for winter control and emergency situations;- operating winter sidewalk equipment for winter trail grooming, and winter sidewalk maintenance issues;- installation of traffic signs and detours;- providing excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries/concerns from the general public and other members of staff in a courteous manner, as necessary; and,- other duties as may be assigned.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a secondary school graduation diploma;- a minimum of one (1) year directly related experience with parks
