**About You**
You are a detailed, organized, passionate, caring and service-oriented individual. Embedded in your work ethic is self-motivation, passion, enthusiasm and expertise with a proven track record of success with working in a dynamic trade association office. You have a demonstrated history of successful event planning, the discipline and passion to make informed decisions, and a keen understanding of how blending the right mix of strategy with advanced tactics and execution that leads to exceptional results. You understand the importance of communication and the value of relationships, cross-functionally, as well as within your specific responsibilities.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
You will use a variety of skills and talents. You will work as part of a team to serve the Chapters and Sectors of Landscape Ontario’s membership community. You will participate in planning and executing virtual and in-person events, both behind the scenes and on-site. You will respond to all member inquiries, track membership data, and send out meeting invitations. You will prepare reports and serve as the main point of contact for inquiries for all many of Landscape Ontario’s Chapters and Sector Groups.
You are an energetic professional who doesn't mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of event planning, member recruitment and retention, and administrative responsibilities and able to work independently with little or no supervision. Well organized, flexible, and enjoys the challenges of supporting a diverse set of stakeholders.
You quickly learn and adapt to new technology, function well in a team environment, love working virtually, in our beautiful office space, and thrive when there is an event to manage.
You will work closely with the Landscape Ontario Chapter boards, Sector Groups, membership team, and the Director of Membership to achieve the goals and objectives of Landscape Ontario’s membership while delivering and ensuring the highest level of service to our members.
**What You’ll Be Responsible For**
- Improve communication and connection between member, non-members, suppliers, chapters, sectors, head office, and public
- Work with Landscape Ontario’s membership team to develop and drive a member recruitment and retention plans at the local Chapter level and sector groups
- Promote the Landscape Ontario Brand, membership identity and benefits at all events
- Coordinate networking & recreational opportunities for industry
- Serve as the conduit of communication between Landscape Ontario and the Chapter/Sector leadership
- Facilitate best practices networking amongst Chapters/Sectors
- Coordinate annual Chapter Leader Governance training event
- Produce activity and progress reports on achievement of objectives
- Support Chapter Boards and Sector Groups through communications, marketing planning and execution,
- Budgeting of events as required
- Payment processing and receivables management as required
- Assist with reception duties as needed Member Event Specialist Requirements
- Have a passion and experience for planning and executing many events
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle many tasks simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Lives for events and attendee experiences
- Trade show experience an asset
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Google Workspace
- Superior problem solver
- Discrete, ethical and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Maintaining a consistently professional approach, with a willingness to take ownership and responsibility both within and outside one’s responsibilities.
- Demonstrated successful project coordination
- Willingness to travel and a valid drivers license
**About this position**
- Permanent, full-time
- Flexibility to work from home on occasion in our hybrid workspace
- Some evenings and/or weekend work as required to complete projects or to attend events
- This position requires travel from time to time within the province of Ontario
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Reports to the Director of Membership of Landscape Ontario
- Our office is in Milton, ON at the 401 between James Snow Parkway and Trafalgar Rd
