Are you an action-oriented, self-starter who enjoys working independently on a variety of projects? Then this role might be for you ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority, is looking for a Communications Specialist to support ABSA’s internal and external communications strategies.

Reporting to the VP of Support Services / CFO, this role is the primary communications role for the organization and is responsible for leading the planning, development and execution of ABSA-wide communications in support of ABSA’s strategic and operational objectives. This role liaises with departments across ABSA to develop and coordinate timely, relevant and effective communications.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Engaging with departments across ABSA to develop both internal and external communications strategies and content for key initiatives and projects.
- Supporting the communications planning and execution for company-wide events including recommending topics/updates, developing speaking notes/presentations, etc. for Townhalls, recognition events, other employee gatherings.
- Developing and managing content calendars for both internal and external communications.
- Contributing to the writing and editing of company-wide publications such as the Annual Report, Business Plan, and Monthly Activity Report. Liaising with internal or external graphic designers.
- Managing Editor of Pressure News, which includes developing the editorial schedule, leading content meetings, project management, writing, editing, coordinating approvals, and liaising with external graphic designers.
- Conducting ongoing assessments of the relevancy and effectiveness of ABSA’s internal and external communications.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Communications.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant field (Public Relations, Communications, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with relationship building capabilities.
- Strong time management, content development and writing skills.
- Experience developing communications for a variety of communications mediums.
