Port Williams, Canada Planters Ridge Winery Full time

Planters Ridge Winery is a premium artisanal winery in the Annapolis Valley using state of the art equipment to craft our wines. Growing both vinifera and hybrids with 21 acres of vineyard on 2 sites.

We are looking to hire a passionate leader with previous cellar experience who is a graduate of a post-secondary winemaking program.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in all aspects of winemaking and viticulture.

**Job Requirements**:

- Responsible for daily winemaking activities including, but not limited to, lab work, receiving grapes, de-stemming, pressing, operation of pumps, filters, temperature controls and bottling in order to meet production requirements and schedules
- Responsible for training and oversight of cellar staff
- Cellar experience is essential
- Conduct laboratory testing throughout the grape growing and winemaking processing
- Participate in wine tastings to evaluate blends and achieve wine style and quality
- As required/as time permits to assist in all aspects of the vineyard operation including, but not limited to, pruning, tying, tucking, thinning and tractor operation
- Ensure regular maintenance of winery and lab equipment
- Responsible for a high level of winery building and equipment hygiene and cleanliness while observing all safety rules
- Tractor skills are required as well as a valid driver’s license
- Maintain written procedures for cellar operations, equipment operation, and safety training
- Generate and maintain written records of grape harvest
- Maintain all records of laboratory tests
- Capable and willing to participate in physically demanding tasks, at times
- Organized with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt
- Some customer facing opportunities will be required
- Ability to work long hours when required, including nights and weekends
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation:
Planters Ridge winery offers competitive wages. Compensation will be determined based on the individual’s education and experience. An employee benefit plan is available
