Superintendent

**Greater City Concrete Works Ltd. (GCCW)** was formed in 2007. GCCW has proven itself with a recipe for success and a strong technical background in the construction industry.

**GCCW**began as a concrete forming company and has evolved into a respectful general contractor providing a wide range of construction services in the Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial sectors

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Plans, schedules, assigns and supervises the work of field workers from all trades including carpentry/scaffolding trades.
- May inspect work in progress and upon completion for adherence to policies and standard trade practices
- May oversee contract work for adherence to specifications and observance of safety practices.
- May conduct inspections of project to determine customer needs, makes recommendations; estimates cost of proposed projects by preparing list of material and labour requirements.
- Takes inventory of tools, materials, and equipment; requisitions supplies.
- Monitors employee time sheets; maintains cost records; writes monthly and annual reports; assists in budget preparation.
- Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings;
- Interprets project drawings and specifications, analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation
- Addresses addendums, change orders, etc.
- Develops familiarity with company’s Cost Control systems
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Extensive knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used in the Civil trades.
- Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
- Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of employees
- Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing, and to interpret plans, blueprints and various specifications.
- Ability to help estimate labour and material costs, to maintain records, and to prepare reports.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- 3 - 5 years Construction Supervisor experience
- Concrete Experience
- Underground Experience

**Experience**:

- Construction: 3 years (preferred)
- Concrete: 1 year (preferred)
- Underground: 1 year (preferred)
