**Job description**

We are currently expanding and seeking an Associate Lawyer to join our team This role will focus on family law matters, however, there is an opportunity to also work in estate litigation.

This role requires a minimum of 2 to 3 year experience working in Estate litigation or Family Law as an Associate.

In this role you must be able to work independently or under the direction of our senior lawyers.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Independent handling/carriage of files;
- Draft / Review documents, including correspondence, pleadings, mediation briefs, affidavits of documents;
- Meeting and communication with clients in a professional manner
- Conducting discoveries, mediations, motions
- Solid understanding and knowledge of matters related to contested divorces, custody and access disputes, child, and spousal support, as well as property and equalization of net family property

**Requirements**:

- **2 years experience working as an Associate Lawyer**, 1 year must be from litigation firm
- Must be a member of the Ontario Bar in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Strong analytical, research and writing skills along with excellent academic credentials.
