Our G’minoomaadozimin - "We Are Living Well" initiative underscores our commitment to health, safety, and mutual respect, creating an empowering environment for all. **Your Impact Starts Here** The **Manager, Health, Safety, and Wellness**plays a critical leadership role in administering and growing Nokiiwin’s WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program (HSEp). Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role oversees the supervision of Health and Safety Advisors, supports Indigenous workplaces, and ensures cultural alignment with Nokiiwin’s Nagachidisin CARE Model and Our Respectful Community policy. You will collaborate closely with the G’minoomaadozimin “We Are Living Well” Steering Committee, representing Nokiiwin’s five member First Nations to advance community-led safety, reconciliation, and wellness initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead and oversee the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Nokiiwin’s WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program (HSEp), guided by Indigenous values and the Nagachidisin CARE Model. - Supervise, mentor, and manage Health and Safety Advisors, fostering professional development, cultural competency, and accountability in service delivery. - Provide strategic leadership in team coordination, performance management, and staff development aligned with organizational goals and community needs. - Engage and collaborate with First Nations communities, Indigenous-led businesses, and organizational partners to promote culturally safe workplace practices and safety transformation. - Develop and manage program budgets, workplans, and culturally grounded safety resources in alignment with WSIB requirements and community priorities. - Integrate traditional knowledge and trauma-informed approaches into health and safety strategies, including advanced topics such as psychological safety and return-to-work systems. - Secure funding and lead proposal development to support program expansion and long-term sustainability. - Represent Nokiiwin on the G’minoomaadozimin “We Are Living Well” Steering Committee, ensuring community-led guidance informs program direction and outcomes. - Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, WSIB standards, and internal policies through effective documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. **Qualifications** - Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Indigenous Health, or related field preferred - CRSP designation (required or in progress) - Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health and safety, program management, or Indigenous community service - Experience working with WSIB HSEp or similar frameworks is an asset - Deep understanding of cultural safety, Indigenous wellness practices, and trauma-informed program design - Strong leadership, grant writing, and communication skills - Valid G driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle - Willingness to travel regularly to Indigenous communities across Ontario - Level 1 Police Criminal Reference Check **Deadline: 4:00 p.m. September 26, 2025** **Job Type**: Fixed term contract Contract length: 48 months **Education**: - Master's Degree (required) **Experience**: - Progressive H & S Management: 5 years (required) - Working with WSIB HSEp: 3 years (required) - Team Supervision: 5 years (required) Licence/Certification: - Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) (preferred) Willingness to travel: - 25% (preferred) Work Location: In person
