Overlooking iconic fishing boats, Margaret’s is a cozy East Coast café serving freshly brewed coffee and tea, Maritime inspired baked goods, seafood chowder, and delicious gourmet paninis.
**Required Skills/Knowledge**
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Barista experience preferred.
- Capability to work as an individual and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people.
- Basic knowledge and history of the local community and popular gathering places or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability and willingness to work any assignment, including duties not listed within the scope of this job description.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
**What You’ll Do**:
- Operating top of the line coffee equipment (manual espresso machine).
- Performing all required point-of-sale transactions, both cash and credit card transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming products.
- Assisting with set-up for events.
- Supporting café operations such as opening and closing tasks, preparing for the day based on expected volumes, opening and closing cash systems.
- Monitor physical surroundings in assigned area throughout day for safety, cleanliness to ensure we meet sanitation guidelines.
- Respond quickly and courteously to patrons’ needs, questions, comments, or concerns with answers and/or action.
- Daily cleaning of the kitchen, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks lists.
- Open to shift opportunities across any property within Six by The Sea.
Contract length: 5 months
Wage: $18.00 per hour
Ability to commute: (**must have reliable transportation**)
- Peggy’s Point Road, Peggy’s Cove, NS B3Z 3S2
Schedule:
- 4-10 hour shifts
- Day/late afternoon shifts
- Holidays
- 7 days a week
**Experience**:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Food Service, Sales, Tourism, Hospitality (preferred)
- Food Safe Qualification and/or Responsible Beverage Server considered an asset
**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: $18.00 per hour
