Job Opening: Exam Room Assistant(Veterinary Assistant)

Edwards Veterinary Services is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Exam Room Assistant. This is a full-time position with a well-established multi doctor practice located in Tillsonburg, Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies.
- Greet clients and their pets, escort them to examination rooms, and obtain necessary information.
- Record and maintain accurate and detailed medical histories and observations.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and comfortably during procedures.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and preparation.
- Maintain and sterilize equipment and instruments.
- Provide post-operative care and instructions to pet owners.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and updating client records.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle animals with care, patience, and compassion.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends

Schedule:

- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Tuesday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
