Warehouse Material Handler

We are currently recruiting a full time shipper/receiver/material handlers for our production facility in Mississauga.

**Please be advised, the work is performed in and out of temperature-controlled/refrigerated environment**

**Shift start time can be as early as 5:00am**

**WHAT WE WOULD LIKE _YOU _TO BRING**
- Minimum two (2) year experience in a similar role, ideally from a warehouse setting.
- Strong attention to detail and positive work ethic.
- Team player
- Valid Forklift License (will be required to operate a stacker, pallet jack, narrow isle reach truck)
- Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of as low as -25 degrees Celsius.
- Exhibits the “What Ever It Takes” attitude to ensure customer satisfaction is met at all times.
- Able to lift up to 30 kgs.
- Able to work on a rotational schedule

**WHAT _YOU _WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR**:

- Inspecting condition and quality of product prior to receiving and reporting issues to Manager
- Providing general upkeep and maintain a clean and tidy work area - ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are adhered to
- Performing daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning as assigned by the Manager, including maintaining the cleanliness of receiving area and loading dock area
- Verifying product identification and description to match the purchase order
- Inspecting product for temperature and checks all perishable and frozen merchandise temperatures; notes on the receiving paperwork before and while the product is being unloaded
- Refusing any products/deliveries that violate food safety and/or receiving protocols
- Verifying packing slips and delivery orders
- Performing daily inventory by conducting physical counts, as orders are received
- Coordinating with the purchasing/inventory department with regards to all supplies and product
- Monitoring flow of goods and implements First-In First-Out (FIFO) method
- Keeping track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and transportation efficiency
- Maintaining a sense of urgency to all requests made by Manager to meet order requirements
- Maintaining a professional attitude and cooperative team spirit
- Providing support to our other food service divisions as required
- Operating stacker, pallet jack, narrow isle reach truck in a safe and competent manner (approx. 20% of the job)
- Performing other duties and assignments as requested.

**_Health and Safety:_**
- Complying with all health and safety policy, measures and legislation.
- Following all Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Ensuring the safe operation of equipment in a safe manner, including ladders, pump trucks, movable stairs and dollies.
- Reporting any safety concerns or issues promptly to the Manager.
