**Job Summary**
**WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?**
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
The RBC team in Toronto is hiring for Senior SDET role on the HR IT QE team. This role will require you to be located in the Greater Toronto region and be able to commute to the office as you will be required to work at least 3 days per week in the office, as indicated by your manager. As a Senior SDET, you will partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to be responsible for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection. You will be responsible for maximizing test coverage and using business analysis techniques to optimize testing activities. You will also be responsible for test case creation and execution, maximizing automation opportunities. (medium to high complexity)
**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test preparation and execution, leveraging an engineering mindset created by practicing deep, technical and domain expertise.
- Responsible for reviewing requirements and business functions and constructing data flows to map intended system behavior including data boundary conditions to optimize maximum coverage.
- Responsible for designing the effective automated test frameworks and data -driven execution approach and test design techniques.
- Provide/create reporting mechanisms to facilitate daily/weekly status to QE Lead/Manager on projects under test deliverables.
- Champion QE required test processes and artifacts like - Test Suite, Traceability matrix etc. and provide support on test suite walkthrough with different teams.
- Create or leverage the existing automation frameworks, tools and artefacts to ensure testing process is continuous, comprehensive and fully autonomous.
- Work with QE Lead/Manager on testing activities create a risk framework to bring up risks/ issues in a timely fashion to prepare for contingency.
- Accountable for developing deep domain knowledge and business logic, processes, flows, data flows and rules, for areas in scope and training junior resources. (Workday/ SAP/ Payroll functions)
**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?**
**Must have**:
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in a QE/ Agile environment with a focus on technical, automated validations leveraging variety of tools/ technologies/ frameworks.
- Experience in creating and executing API based Test Frameworks
**Nice-to-have**:
- Good to have knowledge in HR domain.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
