**Overview**:
We are seeking passionate Mathematics Instructors to join our team. Mathnasium is a math-only learning center that teaches math to students in grades 2-12, in a way that makes sense to them. Using the Mathnasium Method, curriculum and materials are customized to meet each student’s needs. Applicants should love teaching and be capable of motivating students to succeed.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach in-centre using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, constructs, and teaching practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions.
- Create a positive learning environment.

**Requirements**:

- Have **exceptional**math skills through Algebra I and Geometry (Ontario Grade 10)
- Be positive, energetic, outgoing and passionate about teaching and helping kids.
- Experience working with children.
- Possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Be able to communicate professionally and build a rapport with parents, colleagues, and students of all ages.

**Nice-to-have Skills**:

- Prior instructional experience working with children, as in an educational, coaching, or similar role.
- Proficiency in Precalculus and Calculus.

As part of our hiring process at Mathnasium, all applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, to provide work authorization, and to pass a vulnerable-sector background check.

**Availability**:
Our Instructional hours are:

- 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday to Thursday
- 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday

Instructors are required to be available for at least two shifts (of 3 or 4 hours) each week, and to be available from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm one Saturday a quarter for a team meeting and additional training.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 7 - 12 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

- 4 hour shift
