Machine Operator/material Handler

Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor/Manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated machinery including counterbalance forklifts in order to process materials for daily shipments.
**Responsibilities**
- Safe operation of counterbalance (Propane) forklift (preferred)
- Basic operation of automated and/or robotic equipment
- Read, understand and perform the operator instructions
- Perform inspections of all materials received prior to and after processing
- Verify and sign off on in-process documentation as per internal and customer request
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the production supervisor
- Move material efficiently using counterbalance forklift
- Ensure all processes are in accordance with prescribed specifications on customer purchase order
- Inspecting material at every stage of process
- Participate in job related training and development.
- Promote, support and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Education**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified and experienced with counterbalance forklift (required)
- Experience with Quality Documentation as well as warehouse operations (preferred)
- Ability to interact effectively with other departments, including Production and Customer Service.
- Punctual and flexible to work evenings and/or weekends as required

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Analytical abilities with good attention to detail
- Operate computer systems is an asset
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractures, and decimals
- Be a team player and work within a diverse work environment
