What you'll do:
- Accountable for the leadership of a team of Recovery Analysts and the improvement in their performance for the delivery of the business unit outcomes, strategy and goals.- Leading and managing people - delivering on our employee promise of recognizing, developing and engaging our people- Oversight of the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settling of all referred subrogation and recovery opportunities across all lines of business- Create an environment for people to do the best work of their lives & build a stronger team by developing employees’ potential in their current role and for future career aspirations.- Identify and collaborate as a team to improve system conditions, which affect the service for our customers, the environment for our people, and our financial performance.- Lead, manage and motivate the team toward improved quality and higher standards. Oversee and participate in periodic file quality reviews- Prepare and deliver timely and informative management reports and presentation materials- Provide technical assistance to identify and develop training and strategic approaches that will optimize subrogation results- Recognize cases, based on severity/complexity protocols that should be transferred to another level of the Claims team and refer on a timely basis- Work with claims personnel in various departments to coordinate their efforts to protect the insurer’s subrogated interest and to maximize recovery- Identify opportunities to continuously improve our operation through the removal of waste and failure.- Assist in leading services that directly impact Aviva Canada’s customers and therefore its brand and market reputation- Be a role model of our Aviva Values and lead consistently with our leadership culture i.e. our Culture, Strategy, Commitment and Purpose- Communicate effectively with confidence, curiosity, and courage, and in a collaborative manner creating a clear vision of the outcomes we require and how our people will contribute to achieve those- Follow Regulatory and corporate guidelines.- Adhere to service standards- Ensure key risks are identified, measured, monitored and managed effectively
What you'll bring:

- Secondary Education, CIP and FCIP strongly considered- Comprehensive working level knowledge and skill in various business line products-
- 2 + Years claims management experience- 5 + Years progressive claims experience- Solid knowledge of insurance practices, operations and processes- Previous Guidewire exposure an asset-
- Demonstrated oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and negotiate the settlement of subrogated claims with external stakeholders in a professional manner and to work collaboratively in a team environment- Sound working level knowledge of litigation and civil procedure systems across the country, and sound understanding of the practicalities of dealing with internal and external legal resources in a fashion that drives performance improvement and alignment to Aviva’s litigation philosophy.- Ability to mentor, challenge and grow with a diverse team- Well-developed organizational skills- Proven ability to work well independently yet still support team goals- Selfless in your support of others- Excellent inter-personal and effective communication skills both written and verbal, building strong relationships at all levels- Detail-focused, highly analytical orientation- Demonstrated ability to think strategically with problem solving skills- Highly motivated and well organized
