As a Temporary Utility Operator at ATCO Gas, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our natural gas utility systems. This role involves a variety of field and service activities that are fundamental to our operations.

**What You Get to Do**:

- Assist in the installation and maintenance of natural gas utility systems.
- Support the repair of the underground Natural Gas Distribution System.
- Engage in field tasks like hand digging, shoveling, backfilling, and site cleanup.
- Operate vehicles (up to 2 tons), equipment, and small tools.
- Perform meter set maintenance, service shut-offs, and line locating.
- Conduct leak surveys to identify potential underground and aboveground leaks.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Related experience in the upstream gas utility system, meter reading and AMR devices is desirable.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the gas distribution system is desirable.
- Familiarity with various regulatory codes governing the natural gas industry is desirable.
- Must have a valid Alberta Class “5” driver’s license.
- Ability to interpret plans, working drawings and material specification is desirable.
- Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
- May be required to work shift work in operations when necessary and may be called out to assist in emergencies on a 24 hour basis.
- Must be prepared to work in all types of weather.
