**LONGSHORE WORKERS** **HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED EMPLOYMENT** **IN THE LONGSHORING INDUSTRY?** **The Halifax Longshoremen's Association, Local 269 (ILA) and the Halifax Employers Association (HEA) are looking for approximately eighty (80) persons to work as CASUAL LABOUR in the longshoring industry in the Port of Halifax**. Upon successful completion of the selection process which includes testing, training, evaluations, etc., you will be eligible to start working in the longshoring industry, first as a Trainee and then as a casual labourer on "Cardboard B" dispatched from Local 269's Hiring Hall. **Those persons hired onto "Cardboard B" will only be eligible for CASUAL "Part Time" Work (anywhere from 0 to 25 hours per week with potential earnings up to $30,000 per year depending on the shipping volumes). Work periods, when work is available, will range from 4 to 12 hours in any given day. This is the first step to a career in the longshoring industry but there are no guarantees with respect to hours of work per week, or earnings.
