Blue Grass is the largest Nursery, Sod, and Garden Centre in Calgary with a full fleet of trucks and equipment all requiring routine maintenance and repairs. This friendly family-run business has an excellent opportunity for motivated and reliable individuals to join our team.

**Duties include**:

- Repair, overhaul, maintenance, and service of our fleet of dump trucks, loaders, highway tractors, track hoes, skid-steers, and trailers
- Previous experience working on super-b’s, low-boys, tandems, tandem and tri-axels, loaders, Teledyne's, forklifts, etc. is required
- Responsible for overseeing the daily shop activities including supervising apprentices, ordering parts, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, reporting to management and owners
- This position reports to General Manager and Senior Management
- Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential
- Prepared to work in our on-site shop and off-site if required
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
- Perform CVIP inspections and certifications

**Qualifications**:

- Must have Journeyman certificate as Heavy Duty or Ag Mechanic
- Must have CVIP certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience being a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic or managing a shop on-highway equipment
- Class 1 license with an air certificate would be an asset
- Good knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
- Previous experience training and supervising staff would be an asset
- Good safe work practices
- Ability to communicate efficiently both verbally and written and professionally with our general manager, yard personnel, dispatchers, truck drivers, and senior management
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Hardworking, reliable, and dependable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
