**Drinking Water and Environmental Compliance Division (2 positions available)**

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In the Conservation and Source Protection Branch, you will provide research, analysis, and program support to the branch on the conservation authorities and drinking water source protection files, participate in stakeholder consultation and prepare briefing and presentation materials for senior decision-makers and public/stakeholders.
As part of the Wastewater Surveillance Initiative, you will be joining a dynamic team to support and coordinate the tracking of COVID-19 infections in sewage across Ontario through the most cutting-edge methods. You will be supporting the team by conducting research, summarizing findings and conducting stakeholder consultations with communities across Ontario, including several First Nation communities. You will also assist with the preparation of briefing materials, planning documents and reports to support the initiative and participate in periodic risk assessments and program evaluation to assist in developing options for program.

In the Environmental Assessment and Permissions Division, you will support the delivery of the environmental permissions programs, including Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA), Environmental Assessment (EA) and the Renewable Energy Approvals (REA) programs, in a variety of ways including:

- Prepare briefing materials, reports and presentations
- Assist and support staff on various government priority projects and initiatives focused on continuous improvements and streamlining opportunities for the environmental compliance approval, permit to take water, municipal drinking water systems, renewable energy approvals, environmental assessment and/or brownfields and record of site conditions programs
- Support requests for Indigenous Consultation Advice
- Draft responses to key issues and minister correspondence items
- Research and prepare responses to public inquiries to the ministry regarding these programs.
- Support multi-disciplinary teams composed of diverse interests through meetings and coordination of permissions program information-sharing with high-profile clients

In the Environmental Assessment and Permissions Division's Assistant Deputy Minister's Office, you will work with divisional branches to provide advice on various environmental assessment and environmental permissions files. You will provide efficient, effective and organized coordination of day-to-day issues, liaise with internal and external stakeholders and prepare various materials for senior decision-makers.

- You must have graduated from a college or university, with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate, within the past 5 years.
- You must be an Indigenous person (i.e. First Nations, Métis, Inuit).
