Railtown Café is looking for an experienced and driven individual to be our **Café Manager** at the busy and popular Granville Street location You will work alongside a team of talented staff and chefs to foster a fun and friendly environment for our customers while serving delicious artisan food and coffee.

The Café Manager will have the following responsibilities and duties:

- Manages the successful day-to-day operations of the café
- Hires, trains, manages, and oversees the café staff to ensure customers receive the highest level of satisfaction and product quality possible (including: hiring, firing, performance management, discipline, and recognition)
- Prepares the café schedule, covering different shifts and roles as necessary while maintains labor costs
- Serves as the lead customer service contact at the café for customers (including: answering questions, and resolving complaints)
- Acts as a liaison between cafés and other departments, communicate relevant information to the café staff as needed
- Monitors, updates, and analyzes café daily, weekly, and monthly budget, revenues, and expenses
- Maintains, implements, and develops café policies and procedures
- Coordinates with vendors and maintains inventories; orders supply when needed.
- Ensures café areas are clean, neat and orderly at all times.
- Conducts departmental meetings and daily briefings
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 3-year café management experience with great understanding of food and beverage operations
- Self-motivated with demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Food Safe level 1 certification or higher
- Serving

- Right certification is mandatory
- Detail oriented, ability to perform tasks in a timely manner
- Fluent written and spoken English required
- Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary
- Must be able to work long hours and special events as needed

**Schedule**:

- Full-time
- The Café Manager typically works from 5 shifts per week ranging from 8-10 hours while being flexible depending on operations need
