- **Duties and Responsibilities**_
- Provide leadership and direction to dispatchers, including managing all aspects of dispatch services.
- Coordinates operations with truck drivers and stakeholders about goods delivery.
- In addition, monitor
- the movement of goods and optimises the fleet using transport management system.
- Communicate and work closely with logistics department to avoid any issues or delays
- Act as a role model to encourage and motivate staff to achieve high performance and excellent customer service through effective leadership, coaching and training, including performance management.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement, including undertaking initiatives.
- Maintain effective, efficient, and up-to-date policies, systems and procedures for the section.
- Manage preparation of monthly work schedules including call-ins for vacant shifts
- Act as administrative systems expert within the operations and maintenance division for dispatch services.
- Assist in coordinating automation reviews and upgrades and enhancement of internal offices support systems and processes.
- Provide presentation skills and possess excellent problem-solving skills to deal with members of staff and client concerns.
- Train workers in duties and policies and resolve related problems.
- Order requisition, materials, equipment, and supplies
- Prepare and submit reports.
- Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery
- Arrange for maintenance and repair work
- Oversee and assume a participatory role in Dispatch on-call.
- **Skills and Qualifications**_
- Minimum of High School diploma.
- Business related diploma is definitely an asset
- 3- to 5 years dispatch supervisor experience, preferably in a transportation environment is required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills are required, as are excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently, as well as the ability to effectively function in a team environment, is a must.
- Results-oriented problem-solver with demonstrated customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the trucking industry, and functions of logistics & dispatch are preferable.

**Salary**: $65000.00 per year

**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week (work includes shifts, early mornings, evenings and night)
**Overtime**:As per BC labour Laws
