**Bolli Imports Festival Crew - Calgary, AB**
**Rate / Salary**:Pre & Post Festival in Calgary**:$18 - $20/hr
**During Shambhala Festival**:$25/hr
**Job Type**:Full time, Seasonal position**
**Start date**:between July 1 - 15
(*Possibility to start in June depending on skill set)
**End date**:between Aug 1 - 15
**Bolli Background**:
Our small business is based out of Calgary run by our Owner, Adrian, and Head of Operations, Brittany. Bolli Imports began in 2000 when Adrian, inspired by the vibrant vendor culture at North Country Fair, brought back 70 sweaters from South America to sell. The excitement of sharing unique finds with festival-goers sparked a journey that grew into a thriving business. Over the years, serendipitous connections in Ecuador, Thailand, India, Nepal, and Indonesia helped shape Bolli Imports into what it is today. Known for our iconic Bolli Bear hoods and handpicked festival treasures, we’ve spent 25 seasons bringing funky, high-quality goods to Western Canada’s festivals—all with the support of an amazing team and community. We have a small shop in our warehouse in Calgary (half is a retail space, half is a production space where our seamstress sews products), summer festivals, and an online website and Etsy store.
**Position Summary**:
**It is understood that**:
1. It is mandatory that all staff adhere to our company’s zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
2. Staff must be over the age of 19.
**The Bolli Team Shambhala Experience**:
Being a part of the team at Bolli Imports during Shambhala is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Not only do you get to be behind the scenes of vending, but you also contribute to the magical atmosphere that makes Shambhala and the festival community so unique. When you join our team, you get a chance to be part of creating the vibe in the booth, where every interaction is an opportunity to spread positive vibes. A few of the ways you might find yourself contributing to the experience is by putting amber on customers, helping people discover clothes they feel the most themselves in, welcoming Shambhala “virgins” - There’s a certain excitement when someone steps into the Shambhala world for the first time Share that joy, give them a big smile, and help them feel at home in the festival atmosphere. Being on the back end of vending at Shambhala isn’t just about selling; it’s about contributing to the experience in a way that makes it special for everyone. It’s a team effort, and every little moment—from putting amber on someone to just sharing a smile or a hug—adds to the collective vibe of the booth. These small acts can turn someone's day around and give them memories they’ll cherish. There’s something incredibly rewarding about working with a team to create this magic.
**Work Options: Shambhala-Only or Full Season**:
We have two types of roles available:
**Shambhala-Only Crew**: If you’re only available to work at Shambhala, your role will focus on festival vending, setup, takedown, and booth operations during the event.
**Full Season Crew**: If you’re available before and after Shambhala, you may also support warehouse events, stock processing, shipment arrivals, and pre/post-festival logistics.
**Key Accountabilities - Pre and Post Festival**:
- **Packing For The Festival**: organizing and hanging clothing and merchandize for efficient set-up at the festival venue
- **Processing Stock and Shipment Arrivals**: receiving and sorting incoming stock shipments
- **Loading and Unloading Trailers**: assisting in loading and unloading trailers with festival equipment and merchandise
- **Ensuring Adequate Rest Before and After the Festival**: prioritizing personal well-being by getting sufficient rest before and after events
- **Restocking Pre and Post Festival as Determined by Festival Coordinator**: collaborating with the festival coordinator to replenish merchandise before and after each event
- **Keeping Back Stock Organized and Easily Accessible**: Maintaining the organization of back stock inventory for efficient retrieval and restocking.
- **Working at the Warehouse Store**: Our warehouse store operates weekdays from 12-5 PM with our seamstress, Tajana, sewing on-site, and every other Saturday. In the weeks leading up to Shambhala, the store gets busier, and we may need extra coverage. During this time, you may be assigned a project like processing or tagging stock in between assisting customers. Sewing or fabric-cutting skills are a huge asset to help Tajana while you’re there
- **Warehouse Events**: On some weekends, we may run warehouse events where we set up a small booth in front of the warehouse entrance—like a mini festival with fun music and busy shopping These events typically run from 9 AM to 5/6 PM, including setup and takedown, making an energetic day
**Key Accountabilities - During the Festival**:
- Our main festivals this summer are Bomfest (Edmonton), Shambhala Music Festival (Nelson), and some smaller events in August
