**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Psychometrist provides clinical, educational and research functions to the hospital under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. The primary responsibilities of the Psychometrist reflect their advanced educational standing (i.e. Master’s degree in Psychology) and are focused on optimizing the provision of clinical psychological services. Some clinical activities are undertaken only at the discretion of the supervising Registered Psychologist. However, given the advanced (Masters Level) standing of the Psychometrist, some clinical responsibility falls to the Psychometrist by virtue of the fact of their position as front-line staff delivering clinical services. Often, the Psychometrist must respond using their own clinical judgment to handle a situation and debrief with the Psychologist.

The ABI Program delivers clinical neuropsychology services based in two locations - the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre (NSRAC) and the Halifax Infirmary (HI) Site. Psychometrists based at the NSRAC site work primarily with patients who have experienced an acquired brain injury, and psychometrists based at the HI site work with patients who have experienced, or are being investigated for epilepsy.

- Employees are responsible to access training, education and awareness of safety (occupational health safety and patient safety) annually.
- Voluntary certification through the U.S. National Association of Psychometrists is available and
- Psychometrists who are providing primary neuropsychological assessment are encouraged to complete this process.
