**What You’ll Do**

We operate a mid-scale hotel that consists of 122 guestrooms newly opened August 2020. We are looking for a skilled and hard-working Maintenance Person to maintain our new build facility as well as the grounds and associated public spaces. We pride ourselves on upholding excellent curb appeal as well as providing our guests with safe, beautiful spaces to experience and enjoy themselves. Your job responsibilities will include the maintenance and upkeep of laundry facilities, pool, the fitness centre, green spaces and other important components of our business.

**Responsibilities**
- Plan, document and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure the safe and efficient running of all equipment, while maintaining the maintenance budget.
- General and preventive maintenance
- Inspect all facility spaces daily to identify problems with litter, mechanical failure or breakdowns
- Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
- Respond to guests’ and staff’s requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, programming electronic locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors
- Basic repairs to plumbing, electrical and safety systems in guestrooms as required
- Ensure the parking lot and sidewalks are free from litter and debris. Empty trash receptacles on the premises, snow removal, lawn care, gardening
- Maintain records on fire safety and sprinkler systems
- Follow best practices for preventative maintenance in order to minimize breakdowns and maximize guest satisfaction
- Respond to requests from property staff as needed
- The Maintenance Person will be on a regular schedule including on-call hours at the discretion of the Employer and will additionally involve special projects as assigned. They will be available during working hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm weekdays. Outside of these hours, the Maintenance Person will be the prime contact for any building related issues, emergencies, or priority repairs; and will be required to be on-call and therefore expected to respond in such situations. Occasional out-of-hours response will be required.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required
- Excellent facility with common hand and power tools
- Experienced with minor repairs to drywall, wall vinyl, painting
- Familiarity with multi-residential unit layouts and infrastructures
- Ability to communicate well with property management and maintenance staff

Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, guest service and professionalism

Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour
