We are excited to partner with **Giatec Scientific Inc. (Giatec) **on their search for an **Assistant Controller**.

Giatec is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting our Finance & Operations team. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to oversee the day-to-day accounting activities at Giatec.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO**:

- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including invoicing, A/R, A/P, general ledger, inventory, etc.
- Perform monthly financial close and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reporting, including financial reports for lenders, funding sources.
- Manage payroll process in collaboration with Human Resources, including calculation of commissions.
- Provide support in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and adequate internal controls are in place.
- Enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.

**WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE ROLE**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) - required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in Accounting function.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS).
- Solid technical accounting skills and experience with various accounting software
- NetSuite is a plus.
- Ability to quickly understand systems and data to make data-informed decisions.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to coach and mentor more junior staff.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work in high paced environment where priorities change quickly.
- Detail oriented and possess excellent critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
