Packaging Machine Operator

FG Deli Group Ltd. located in Langley BC, is the progressive leader in the manufacturing of premium, quality, European meat products.

We are currently looking for **Full Time Packaging Machine Operator**, to join our Packaging team.

**Pay - $23.94 + $0.75 afternoon shift premium**

**Shift - **Monday to Friday, 2:45 PM to 10:45 PM

**Responsibilities**:
Package employees are responsible for packaging products in an accurate and timely manner, while meeting quality and customer requirements.
- Participate in equipment set up and changeovers to have lines set up and operating in a timely manner
- Ensure quality standards and specifications are met prior to packaging and remove products not meeting quality standards
- Operate slicing machines, scales and other packaging equipment used to prepare, package, label and box products
- Conduct random packaging quality checks - labels, gas, metal detector and leakage to ensure correct operation of equipment and that standards are being maintained
- Tape boxes using tape gun to prepare to place product into boxes
- Label boxes with required information prior to moving to the shipping department
- Stack boxes in stable formations on pallets to prepare for shipping
- Receive specialized training involved in monitoring critical control points outlined in our food safety plan
- Properly tag / identify products during production within the Packaging department
- Notify Team Leader of employees’ performance and to enable further coaching and training
- Maintain a positive environment where employees are effective, productive and appreciated
- Solve problems, involving Employees in the process
- Liaise between employees Team Leaders, keeping employees informed of important developments, possible future projects or changes

**Minimum Requirements**
- Previous manufacturing experience required
- Previous Machine operator experience preferred
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Hand-eye coordination and good finger dexterity and able to perform repetitive motions, frequent bending and twisting throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform some heavy lifting up to 10lbs frequently, 55lbs occasionally; able to push heavy racks
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to work in a cold (approximately 2º C) or very warm, noisy and wet environment
- High attention to detail
- Able to pass a criminal background check
