Shallow Utilities Foreman

Calgary, Canada Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. Full time

This position is responsible for supervision of assigned crew and equipment. Foreman, Shallow Utilities will ensure that performed work meets the specifications outlined by the assigned jurisdiction. It is required for this position to present a professional image and attitude in all dealings with clients, the public and fellow workers. The Foreman will also ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe and responsible manner.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Supervise work at assigned jobsite, including conducting daily field inspections and identifying work and personal issues.
- Check delivery of materials to verity bills of lading accuracy and notify supervisor of material delivery discrepancies.
- Ensure materials required are available before they are needed to maintain a steady workflow on the jobsite.
- Maintain all records and reporting systems for the jobsite.
- Ensure uniformity and compliance with contract specifics.
- Be responsible for review, completion and correction of all required documentation, including daily time sheets, tailgate meetings, and incident reporting.
- Provide response to emergencies and ensure proper actions are taken.
- Ensure that employees are wearing the assigned Personal Protective Equipment when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or extensive
- URD (Underground Residential Development) & Street Light Experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shallow utilities.
- Valid Class 5 AB driver’s license with clean abstract.
- Strong ability to read construction prints.
