Nursing Scheduling Clerk

Primary Focus:
Under the direction of the Director of Resident Services the Nursing Scheduling Clerk is responsible for clerical duties related to all aspects of the Nursing Department, including maintenance of medical records and ordering, distributing and monitoring nursing supplies as directed.

Qualifications:
Education / Registration
- Certificate or degree in Secretarial Science and/or secretarial experience.
- Business or Medical assistant program or Medical secretary specialization is preferred.

Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years office experience - preference given to those with additional experience and/or with experience in a personal long term care setting.
- Experience with staff scheduling in a healthcare environment.

Expertise
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in the English language, with experience in communicating at a variety of levels with management, staff, residents and families.
- Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and office procedures.
- Highly motivated, collaborative and able to work independently, while giving and receiving direction according to each situation and role; evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity.
- Accomplished writing and computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations plus databases, and MDS.
- Confident and appropriate in working with the elderly.
