Associate Director, Metadata Management

**Job Summary**

**What is the opportunity?**

Manage a team of Analysts and assist with strategic initiatives and projects. Support the Senior Director, Data Operations in implementing strategic approach consistently across all Data Domains in scope for the SDMO. Maintain, update and execute Metadata processes across all Data Domains in scope. Ensure consistency in approach and adherence to internal processes as well as with Enterprise Data Standards. Assist in identifying efficiencies to capturing Metadata and assist in advocating for the adoption of Collibra across data domains in scope.

**What will you do?**

**Data Domains**
- Assist in engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) the review of Metadata in Collibra
- Assist in collaborating with Business Stakeholders to ensure Metadata is properly understood and maintained
- Facilitate consistent adoption of Metadata standards across the enterprise, demonstrating the value added by adoption of Collibra
- Assist with project work as required (e.g. regulatory deliverables)

**Review and Maintain the effectiveness of Business Processes**
- Maintain a level of proficiency with respect to knowledge of Metadata standards and practices in Collibra
- Assist to define, prioritize & document processes and procedures to support Metadata Management in Collibra
- Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of Metadata processes and suggest improvements

**Relationship Management**
- Act as a secondary contact, in support of Senior Director, for all aspects of Metadata Management.
- Collaborate with other Data Management Offices, Data Custodians and Data Stewards to align metadata standards and best practices
- Collaborate with the Chief Data Office to advocate for enhancements to Metadata tools such as Collibra
- Develop positive relationships with service partners and team members
- Presentation to key stakeholders of Metadata details captured.

**Team and Delivery Management**
- Management and prioritization of key day-to-day activities.
- Review, advise & lead the work of more junior Metadata Analysts.
- Ensure problem resolution and efficient integration and implementation of new initiatives and activities
- Coach and Train junior team members in becoming valuable team resources and supporting the execution of Metadata practices in general
- Effective allocation and reallocation of tasks amongst team members with the end goal of meeting Metadata deliverables
- Tracking & communicating team progress and providing updates to management of potential risks as deadlines approach

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must have**:

- 2-4 years experience in an operational environment
- Prior experience with Enterprise Metadata Management platforms
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Metadata Management concepts
- Ability to understand the importance of Metadata as it relates to applicable policy and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively
- Multi-tasking & deliverables management
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of banking policies, processes and procedures
- Ability to work independently with general supervision/oversight to achieve short-term (daily/weekly/monthly) performance expectations

**Nice-to-have**:

- Familiarity with Data Governance and Metadata Management tools such as Collibra.
- Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Datameer, SQL, Python etc.
