**The Digital Engagement and Communications Coordinator position was written for you if you are**
- passionate about all things related to digital communications, public and press relations, and making a difference in the Canadian myeloma community
- an excellent communicator who is as comfortable talking and working with the media as you are reviewing, writing, and posting text to our digital platforms (web, e-newsletter, social media) in both, English and French
- excited about social media and have experience developing creative, strategic plans and posts that inspire and motivate to action
- resourceful, uber-organized and love wearing many hats that involve planning, leading, coordinating projects and tasks, establishing and meeting deadlines, as well as creating and maintaining a social media calendar and a digital asset library
- gifted at building and maintaining relationships with varying internal/external stakeholders and populations, i.e.: journalists, healthcare professionals, myeloma community of volunteers (patients and caregivers)
- creative and adept in storytelling to help develop marketing content as required
- a stickler for detail, deadlines, copy and layout that’s compelling and easy to understand

**Role description**

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications and Marketing, you will be assisting with all aspects of public and press relations for Myeloma Canada’smajor fundraising events, as well as maintaining our website, social media, and all digital communications, platforms, and assets.

**Roles and responsibilities**

**I - Public and press relations**:

- Support the Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing in promoting our major fundraising events to Canadian community press and media outlets:

- Coordinate and lead outreach to Myeloma Canada event spokespeople, stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and Myeloma Canada representatives for interviews.
- Assist with conducting interviews from which you’ll create initial drafts of press releases (primarily in English) that you’ll use to pitch stories, secure and coordinate media interviews throughout campaign seasons.
- Establish positive, collaborative working relationships with media and maintain these throughout the year to optimize and enhance media coverage opportunities for the organization.

**II - Social media and digital marketing**
- Collaborate on creating and managing a strong, consistent, and forward-thinking social media/digital strategy and content calendar that will elevate our digital presence and marketing across our social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and digital communications (website: myeloma.ca and e-newsletter, Myeloma Matters) platforms
- Work with the Director, Corporate Communications and Marketing to launch and create compelling content for our social channels that will engage and grow our community
- Exploit the specific capabilities of each platform to draw attention, elevate and extend our reach to new and evolving audiences, and strengthen relationships with our community
- Coordinate our monthly e-newsletter and corporate announcements (created in Constant Contact), including content and translation management, formatting, list generation and send out. There will be some minor English content creation
- Spear-head digital asset management system project, update and maintain libraries, provide stakeholders with our corporate assets
- Coordinate with partners/stakeholders for visibility on their web sites as needed
- Promote the use of social media to our support groups and community members
- Stay up to date on social media marketing trends and technology, proactively evaluate and recommend emerging best practices, channels, social tools, engagement trends, new technologies, and management tools
- Assist with Google ads strategy.

**III - Website**:

- Maintain website (English and French), upload and update with new content (to be provided), archive old pages
- Coordinate with Directors to ensure all information and content is current and consistent across all platforms
- Ensure all links/navigation are live and func
