Gerni's Farmhouse is an Austrian/German Restaurant, named after the Resort's owner, Mr. Gernot Langes-Swarovski. It focuses on authentic Bavarian cuisine.

**Staff accommodation is available on site in double rooms for full time Sparkling Hill employees, working 40 hours per week.**

**Duties include**:

- Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
- Ensure the level of quality, portion control and plate presentation.
- Coach staff and teach them the importance of creativity and flavour in preparation and presentation
- Keep safety and sanitization standards.
- Prepare a variety of ingredients, sauces, etc. based on the needs of the Kitchen
- Assist with plating for banquets and other functions
- Supervise and participate in the production and plating of all food service areas, to maintain the best quality food style possible.
- Aid the Executive Chef in ordering and inventory of food products for the preparation and operation, of an efficiently run kitchen.
- Assist and coach in the organization of other staff to reduce the workload or meet the deadlines of the department.
- Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness, minimizing waste and maximizing quality.
- Aid the Executive Chef in creating, implementing, and maintaining department objectives and to ensure they are met and exceeded.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Food Handler Certificate required
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a Pastry Kitchen
- Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Able to work cohesively as part of a team, as well as independently
