General Superintendent

**Overview**
Division 2 Environmental (D2E) is seeking an experienced Hazmat General Superintendent for its Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley operations. D2E is an established and growing abatement and demolition company with job sites throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Division 2 Environmental is COR certified, with a focus on safety.

**DUTIES**:

- Oversee all day-to-day activities for all jobs in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
- Monitor progress of projects with a focus on budget and continuous improvement.
- Maintain all safety documentation & compliance with the Company Health and Safety program and COR requirements

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and maintain construction schedules in conjunction with the D2E project management team.
- Achieve deadlines, resolve problems and ensure that project scopes are completed on time and on budget.
- Supervise abatement foreman and superintendents on site.
- Confidently set expectations for abatement foreman and superintendents
- Oversee all abatement work crews, including sub-trades.
- Provide input for the daily staffing schedule.
- Provide input to HR as required (hiring, firing and promotions)
- Audit sites to ensure contractual obligations are met and work outside the contract is noted and documented.
- Provide estimating and project management team with scope changes for costing.
- Prepare Cost Submittals for T&M work.
- Provide input for monthly progress claims.
- Communicate project progress to the D2E project manager as required.
- Communicate with General Contractor (GC) Site Superintendents as required.
- Communicate with GC project managers as required.
- Attend GC’s project start-up meetings as required.
- Attend GC’s weekly scheduling meetings as required.
- Confidently communicate changes and additions to stakeholders (owners and GC’s).
- Prepare and assist with Exposure Control Plans (ECP) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Be comfortable with business development processes
- Seek out and develop relationships with vendors, sub-contractors and suppliers, with a focus on cost control.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Worksafe Asbestos Level 3 Certification **Mandatory**
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Construction Technology would be an asset
- Trades certifications would be an asset.
- Equipment operator certifications would be an asset
- Fall protection & Level 1 first aid certifications required (training provided)

**Experience**:

- Technical experience with abatement.
- Experience with select and structural demolition, excavation, and concrete cutting would be an asset.
- Preparation of documents and procedures for abatement.
- Minimum 10 years of related work experience in the abatement industry
- Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience or a combination of 5 years of Senior Foreman and Superintendent experience in the abatement industry.
- Supervision of crews up to 30.
- Successful track record in the completion of projects up to $5,000,000.
- Demonstrated understanding of abatement means and methods.
- Demonstrated understanding of demolition, excavation, and concrete cutting means and methods would be an asset.

**Knowledge**:

- Ability to select the most suitable and efficient processes and procedures for project-specific abatement.

- Knowledge of SiteMax Project Management Software would be an asset
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license (Class 5 or 7).

**WAGE & BENEFITS**:

- $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience. Wage is hourly with overtime.
- Company vehicle.

Pay: $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
