Sorter - Compost Plant

**Description**:
Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. This position will be located out of our Compost facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Miller Waste Systems is looking for a Sorter who is efficient and effective working with a team to sort waste, recycling and organics within Miller Waste Systems. This person will also serve as a the backup scale operator.

Responsibilities/Requirements

In the position of Sorter your responsibilities and job requirements will include but are not limited to:

- Sort incoming HRM organic material
- Remove contaminates
- Perform estop checks
- Preform sort line walk around / pre op
- Clean sort line as needed
- Power wash organic carts on a rotational basis
- Tip organic green carts when needed
- Yard maintenance / snow removal as needed
- Work as the backup scale operator
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge of power washers preferred
- Self-motivated individual and be able to work without supervision
- Function safely around equipment
- Must follow all Miller Waste Safety policy’s & procedures (ie. Lock out/tag out procedures)
- Must be available to work weekends and overtime as required
