The Rich Uncle Tavern

In the late 1800’s, Joseph Winterhalt, a local cigar manufacturer in Kitchener, which was then known as the City of Berlin, created the “Rich Uncle” line of cigars and boasted they were “10 cents and worth it”. In honour of proud craftsmen like Mr. Winterhalt, The Rich Uncle Tavern chose to garner its namesake from the unique brand of cigar that was once manufactured and sold on the very block we now reside.

Defined by the humble, hearty, and wholesome approach we take with our live-fire menu, The Rich Uncle Tavern offers classic, yet inventive fare that pays homage to the brasseries and taverns of yesteryear. Whether you've reserved a table for brunch or dinner, or walking-in for a quick lunch or late night bite, you can enjoy an old favourite, or experience something new.

Responsibilities and Duties

Below are the functions this position will perform on a regular basis, along with how the job functions within the organization. This position reports to the Assistant and General Manager at the establishment.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and maintain a safe environment by identifying ways to increase the guest experiences on a day-to-day basis.
- Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company’s opening and closing guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health and safety department.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally.
- Mix all drinks based on the serving sizes as outlined in Ignite Group of Brands
- Rich Uncle Tavern beverage manual to keep drink costs at a minimum.
- Develop an effective and efficient work pace that keeps the guests at the bar and within the dining room satisfied at all times.

Bartender Skills
- Examples of High school diploma/GED required
- 2+ years’ experience working as a bartender
- Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred but, not a requirement.
- Positive outlook on the day to day hustle of life.
- Must be able to lift 20-pound boxes and stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Strong customer service, time management and interpersonal communications skills required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour
