**_ Work Week: _**Monday-Friday 6:00am-3:15pm
**_Department: _**Truss Department
**_Reports to: _**Truss Supervisor

**_ General Labour - Truss Department_**

Responsible for assembling cut material into floor and roof trusses to specification. The position may also be responsible for pulling plates, stacking of finished product, banding and marking materials, and pushing product on carts to appropriate area.

**_ Duties & Responsibilities_**
- Prepared to start the work shift on time, every day.
- Contributes to a positive team environment within the Plant and throughout the company.
- Able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively uses downtime. This includes training on other jobs in the shop.
- Follows Tarpin Lumber & Truss Standards, in particular, sustains shop cleanliness and required maintenance.
- Read and interpret work orders and production schedules (typed, handwritten, computer screen).
- Pull plates.
- Place cut material and plates per specification.
- Pile lumber from component saw or pile trusses from rollers.
- Band prepared bundles.
- Check truss bundles to yard orders.
- Set up and operate presses, nail guns, and other equipment.
- Complete continuous quality review throughout processes to meet quality and accuracy requirements including dimensions, lumber grades, and building process.
- Perform daily stretch and flex prior to starting job duties.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work area.
- Report any equipment and product deficiencies to Lead.
- Follow all established written and unwritten company procedures.
- Wear all required PPE (steel toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves).
- Comply with OHSA requirements and established company safety policies and procedures.
- Accepts other duties as assigned by the Table Lead, Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

**_ Working Conditions_**
- The work environment requires the employees to work both inside and outside.
- The environment generally includes, dust, dirt, equipment noise; working near moving machinery. PPE required at all times.

**_ Physical Requirements_**
- This position require the ability to continuously stand, squat, bend, reach, and kneel; walk, handle push/pull up to 20lbs, and lift/carry up to 25lbs;
- Frequently push/pull up to 80lbs, and lift/carry up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift/carry up to 100lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs with or with assistance from others.

**_ Preferred Experience Requirements_**
- Ability to read fine print such as typed work orders, computer screen and tape measure.
- Basic Math and Geometry
- Ability to determine production direction

**_ Required Skills_**
- General knowledge of the assembly process.
- Ability to safely and effectively use a hammer, tape measure, and to band, stack and move product safely.
- Ability to communicate effectively (speaking, listening, and writing) with co-workers.
- Follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions/direction.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 43.75 per week
