**Summary of position**

The Youth Mental Health Collective, led by Dr. Srividya Iyer, is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow. The post-doctoral fellow will be registered with McGill University, one of Canada’s leading universities, where Dr. Iyer is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.

**About Youth Mental Health Collective**

The Youth Mental Health Collective is an initiative of the Canada Research Chair in Youth, Mental Health and Learning Health Systems (Tier 1), a title awarded to Dr. Srividya Iyer. The team works with and for youth and their communities to better understand the lives, mental health, and well-being of young people, and to design, implement, research, and build capacity and advocate for youth-attuned, effective, and culturally and contextually relevant services, supports and policies in Canada and globally.

**Collaborators**

The Postdoctoral fellow will support Dr. Srividya Iyer’s research team and work closely with diverse collaborators, including those in Aire ouverte (especially Dr. Martin Goyette at L’École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP) and the ACCESS Open Minds Indigenous Youth Mental Health and Wellness Network (especially Dr. Chris Mushquash at Lakehead University).

The Postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to pursue and grow as a researcher in the field of youth mental health and wellbeing and concurrently strengthen their knowledge translation skills.

**Description of tasks**

As a core member of the YMHC, the Postdoctoral fellow will:

- Actively contribute to research (conceptualization, implementation, data collection and analysis, knowledge translation and stakeholder engagement
- Lead and/or significantly contribute to scientific writing (research protocols, peer reviewed academic journal articles, oral and poster presentations, reports etc.)
- Plan and participate in scientific outreach activities (seminars, conferences, etc.)
- Plan and participate actively in the supervision/mentoring of trainees
- Participate in personnel training and management tasks as needed
- Promote a team culture among all collaborators, partners, stakeholders and participants and contribute to innovative knowledge translation activities

**Required qualifications**
- PhD degree completed or equivalent qualification in a related field (Public Health/Psychology/Physical & Occupational Therapy/ Epidemiology/ Sociology/Psychiatry/Nursing/Education, Social Sciences/ Mental Health/ Social work, Anthropology, etc.)
- Must have completed PhD degree within last 4 years or less time
- Prior experience in youth mental health, early intervention, learning health systems and/or health and social services research is an asset

**Required skills**
- Excellent spoken and written English and French skills are required
- A record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations and/or other non-traditional forms of knowledge dissemination like multi-media

**Required abilities**
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment
- Strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in an exciting, fast-paced environment with multiple projects
- Experience working with young people, families, community partners, clinicians and decision-makers is an asset
- Strong commitment to equity, as well as reconciliation and authentic partnership with Indigenous Peoples
